Volunteer

Give back and watch your community grow!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio has many ways to get involved!

You can make a difference in the lives of thousands of San Antonio youth by becoming a volunteer. Find your perfect volunteer role to help the youth of our community grow!

How To Become A Volunteer

As a volunteer, you will help Club members with homework, arts and crafts, culinary arts, gym and game room activities, educational fun, and more. At our Clubs, we take safety seriously and all volunteers must go through a screening process.

The first step for all our volunteer opportunities is to complete the volunteer interest form.

After the form is submitted, our Events & Volunteer Manager will be in contact within 2 business days to discuss next steps. For individuals and groups interested in completing a one-time activity with our youth, specific forms and waivers are required. For those interested in becoming recurrent or regular volunteers at any of our facilities, a complete volunteer onboarding process is required.

Individual Volunteering

Whether you help with homework, coach a game, or teach an art project, you will have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with the youth at our Clubs. However you choose to volunteer, your efforts will always have a positive impact on their lives. In turn, you will find that spending time with the children and teens in our program has a positive impact on you, as well.

The volunteerism needs of our Clubhouses and extended day programming locations changes daily. Volunteers can identify specific interests (i.e., sports coaching, ballet teaching, tutoring, arts & crafts, etc.) or be available to meet the general needs of the Club and the youth we serve.

Group/Corporate Volunteering

Individuals and groups interested in participating in a one-time group activity must first complete a group activity form detailing the activity or project they are interested in completing. Past successful projects have included financial literacy workshops with teenagers, beautification projects at Clubhouses, gardening, and festive art projects with Club kids. All ideas are welcome and will be screened and approved (as applicable and available) by our Events & Volunteer Manager.

Group activities with our children must occur during kid-serving Clubhouse hours (August – May, M-F, 3PM – 6PM; May – July, 7AM – 7PM). Campus beautification projects can occur during normal operating hours, Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM, and on occasional weekends.
