Young Achievers Mentor Program

The signature aspect of Young Achievers is its mentor program. Over a 12-week period during the spring, service-minded adults match with a student in an effort to promote their intellectual development. Specifically, the program is designed to improve students' writing skills by addressing the college essay. Participating mentors coach students through the writing process, offering tips and strategies to make the writing process more manageable. The program concludes with its annual College Essay Writing Challenge.

The 2019 Young Achievers Mentor Program features:

  • Students from Trinity University, St. Mary's University School of Law, and University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine

  • Professionals from a diverse group of fields

  • Service men and women from the United States Air Force
